Note from Rapid:
Hey Guys! I am writing this message March 25, 2020.
I know it's been years since anyone last role-played here - or anywhere within our site network. The majority of our RP groups have grown up and moved on with their lives. I have too - but I am also now stuck at home with lots a free time during the US quarantine measures (never imagined I'd use that sentence). Recently I was feeling wistful of my RP days and I wanted to put up a message to let y'all know (whoever is looking) that I am alive and well.
Over the last few years (since 2014? 2016?) I have graduated college, gotten married, and I am currently pregnant and expecting my first baby to be born in June 2020. My husband and I are doing well during the current circumstances and we are both fortunate enough to have critical jobs and will remain employed until the US restrictions are lifted. I am currently working from home full time, although I expect to resign from my job once the baby is born and become a full-time mother.
I no longer RP and I am not sure if I have much interest in doing so anymore. However I still love the challenge of creating websites and I like to believe that me design tastes has grown more complex and sophisticated over the years. I am currently in the process of trying to finish write two unique stories that are a combination of new ideas and ones I developed back in my role-playing days. I am currently flirting with the idea of creating a collaborative story center where some of us old RPers can flesh out our ideas with the help of others.
I hope all is well with all of you. Feel free to reach out to me ([email protected]) if you want to share your own life updates or hear more about my stories.
Love, Rapid.

6 Months. 183 Days.
TickTockTickTock. There is a clock that only counts up, not down; and each day added is its own small victory. Today the clock reads 183. This clock is very special, it is one hidden only in the hearts of the survivors.
TickThumpTickThump. Each second that passes, each breath you take, the more the world changes around you. It has been 6 months since the world was bombarded by a series of High Frequency Electromagnetic Pulses. The event we call The Zap. At first it looked like we would survive.
ThumpThumpTHUMPTock. The last time anyone visited our little village, everything was under control. At least in our own minds. Now there is chaos. Two tribes, Jagter and Cazador went to war, then combined when attacked by the villagers. The changed have evolved. They're much smarter, they can plan, attack... even overthrow that organized town survivors.
TickTHUMPThumpThump. They are simply known as the Chasseur now, the Hunters. They have kept a few of Marion as... a type of pet for now. they use them for their various own sick fantasies, a lot of farming and tending to the sick. The Changed rule Marion now.
THUMPtocktickPTHUMP. Lone stranger, you better run as fast as you can. Just don't turn left. Don't turn right. Keep straight ahead. Follow the bridge down to the island, where the barriers are breaking down. In this hell, there is no way out.
THUMPTHUMPTHU-
You're Dead.
Nine out of ten kids between the age of puberty and 25 changed when the Zap hit. 99.9% of people from 25 to 55 died instantly. Only half of the elderly live. But only to become food for the changed. Somehow, the EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) clicked something in the brains of those who changed. They are no longer human.
The EMP, or the Zap, unlocked the primal instincts in the changed's brains, it turned them feral and gave them the blood-lust for human flesh. At first, some called them zombies, for what else could they be? They hunted their friends and family. However, that impression is wrong. They aren't dead. No, the changed are very much alive.
They are always there. They live, they breathe, they hunt. They seem to move in 'packs' that function almost like a wolf pack, and they capture those not changed. Then they eat them.
What's more terrifying, though, are the spared. The spared are more like a ticking time bomb. they are the rare 10% of young-adult that did not change. Yet. Months continue to pass and no one is sure yet why those who changed did or those who spared were. All we know is that our world has been left for ashes.
Technology is useless. The humans are being hunted. the changed are evolving -- they're growing stronger and smarter, and they've started to use weapons... guns... then they begin to kidnap the spared and keep them as pets.
Oh, and those spared? The small 10% of young-adults that didn't change? Some of them are starting to change now... after months of peace, they begin to snap.
